While the majority of the people in the UK are quick enough and happy enough to laugh at Audley Harrison and call him the laughing stock of boxing, there is one person who still has Audley’s back. British Amateur Super Heavyweight boxer, Anthony Joshua is more than happy to fight Audley’s corner, as he believes that Harrison’s achievements as an amateur opened up a lot of gates.
Joshua explained, "A lot of people have got bad things to say about him [Harrison] but for British boxing he opened up so many gates.” He then continued by adding, "He was an ABA champion, a Commonwealth champion. I know he did not do too well as a pro but from an amateur stance he was an Olympic champion and he is British."
