When it was announced that music superstar Miley Cyrus had been brought in as one of the new coaches for the new season of The Voice, there were many people who questioned the decision, claiming that it was not a good move for the show. However, there is one person who feels that it was a great move and will definitely work out well for all involved.
Blake Shelton has been working as one of the coaches on The Voice for a few seasons now and he has claimed that he and Miley Cyrus have developed quite a strong friendship already. Blake says that people should not criticise Miley for what she has done in her life, as she is currently one of the biggest stars on the face of the Earth.
Shelton explained, "I can't imagine us ever having a problem. We completely understand each other, and just because she lives her life one way and I live my life one way doesn't mean we're not friends. Because, God, if that was the case, I wouldn't have - especially in this town, Los Angeles - everyone would hate me."
He added, "To go from Hannah Montana to the Miley Cyrus that we know now, it's the craziest evolution maybe ever. But I don't know that anybody can say she's made a wrong move. She's one of the biggest stars in the world and the numbers kinda speak for themselves. You can't do anything when you look at her career and the success she's had other than just go, 'Respect.'"
As well as seeing Miley Cyrus joining The Voice as one of the new judges, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine will also be joined by Alicia Keys for the 11th season of the show, which will air later in the year.
