Carlos Tevez was reportedly seen playing golf on matchday in Spain as Manchester City lost to Southampton 3-1. The Argentine striker was absent from the team due to "family reasons". Coincidentally City produced the worst performance of the season in that match largely due to the absence of Tevez.
But there is no suggestion that Tevez breached any club rules during his leave of absence.
After being regularly photographed playing golf when he went AWOL in Buenos Aires for six months last season, his judgement could be called into question this time around
A spokesman for the player told Mirror Sport: “Carlos was given permission to take some time off by Manchester City so that he could attend to a personal matter. He was in Spain last weekend and he may have taken a few hours to relax.”
Tevez returned to training during the week and is in City’s squad to face Leeds United in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon
A reliable source at the Premier League champions City confirmed that Carlos Tevez had permission from the club to be absent last weekend because of a family matter.
