The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been absolutely brilliant over the years, bringing together our favourite comic book characters on the big screen but, while the likes of Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and the likes have been leading the way, it seems that we are coming to the point where the universe is going to be taken over by other characters, as we look to start saying farewell to some of the regular stars.
Actor Chris Evans has become one of the biggest stars in the world, thanks to playing the role of Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but now, after months of speculation and rumours, it seems that his contract with Marvel is on the verge of being up. Chris has been talking about his time as Captain America, admitting that his contract will officially be up after Avengers 4, giving us just two more movies with him.
Evans was a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, when he told the host, "It is. My contract is up. I have 'Avengers' three and four, we do 'Avengers 3' now and four is the latter part of the year, then after that, that is the end of my contract ...They've been filming since February, I don't start until May, there are so many people involved."
While it is now official that his contract with Marvel will be up after Avengers 4, it does not mean that it will definitely be the end of Chris Evans as Captain America, as the actor will no doubt have the option to extend his contract for future movies. With that said, Chris has been playing the character for many years now, so he might feel that the time is right to say goodbye to Captain America for good.
