There has been a lot of talk about a new Ghostbusters movie for quite a while now and, while it looked like we were never going to get a third installment of the franchise, it looks like we are actually going to get two. One of these new Ghostbuster movies will focus on a team of female Ghostbusters and looks set to have a fairly impressive cast lined up.
One of the actresses who was heavily linked to a role in the new Ghostbusters movie, was Emma Stone, who actually decided against agreeing to star in the film. Emma has now opened up about the Ghostbusters project, admitting that she did actually find the script funny, although she did not feel that it was the right movie for her acting career right now.
Stone was chatting to the Wall Street Journal, when she explained, "The script was really funny. It just didn't feel like the right time for me. A franchise is a big commitment — it's a whole thing. I think maybe I need a minute before I dive back into that water."
While Emma Stone has will not appear in the new Ghostbusters movie, the film does already boast a fairly impressive cast including the likes of Melissa McCarthy, Chris Hemsworth, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong, and Leslie Jones. The new Ghostbusters film is being directed by Paul Feig, with filming getting underway earlier this month, and an aim of hitting the big screen on July 22, 2016. We look forward to it.
