There was once a time when it looked like Evangeline Lilly had retired from the acting industry and would no longer appear on the big screen. Fortunately though, this beautiful and talented actress was convinced to change her mind and has now appeared in some very impressive movies indeed.
In her latest outing on the big screen, Evangeline Lilly plays the role of Hope Van Dyne in the Marvel movie Ant-Man, with her character expected to become The Wasp in the future. Evangeline has now opened up about her character and how Hope is perfect to make the transition into The Wasp.
Lilly explained, "She was raised by two superheroes, so she knows probably better than everybody the pitfalls of that life, the pitfalls of that responsibility and how it can weigh on a human being and what it can do to their personal life. Hopefully that’s taught her a lot, and hopefully as she grows and matures and develops as a woman, that will give her greater and greater wisdom."
As well as talking about the excitement at the possibility of getting to play The Wasp in future Marvel movies, Evangeline Lilly also went on to talk about her contract with Marvel. Evangeline says that she is signed on to appear in future Marvel movies but that some things have changed and she is not completely sure what is happening at the moment.
Lilly added, "When I signed on with that contract, I knew there was a chance I would never do another Marvel film, but they make you sign them anyway. I hope I actually get to fulfill that contract. There was an original plan and it got scrapped… I can’t tell you. And now we’re re-fabricating plans and they’re still up in the air. We still don’t know."
We look forward to seeing where her character goes in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
