There has been so much talk about the Ghost in the Shell movie for such a long time now and, while we should be excited to see how this Hollywood movie adapts the classic anime, most of the talk has actually been about the casting of Scarlett Johansson in the lead role. The reason for this, is the fact that many of the fans feel that an Asian actress should have been cast in the role, rather than the beautiful Hollywood superstar.
However, slowly but surely a lot of these critics have been coming round to the idea of Scarlett Johansson playing the lead role of The Major in the Ghost in the Shell movie. Following the release of the Ghost in the Shell trailer, a number of fans began to accept the decision to cast Scarlett, and now it seems that there are a lot of fans who are now actually getting excited for the release of the movie.
One excited fan beamed, "I'm not going to lie, I was annoyed that Hollywood had cast ScarJo in Ghost in the Shell, as I really thought an Asian actress should have got the role. But I'm coming round to the idea and I cannot wait to see what the movie has to offer. Fingers crossed it is not awful, or there will be a lot of hate aimed her way.
As well as starring Scarlett Johansson, the Ghost in the Shell movie also features Rila Fukushima, Michael Wincott, Pilou Asbaek, Michael Pitt, and Juliette Binoche, among others. The Ghost in the Shell movie has been directed by Rupert Sanders, with the movie set to hit the big screen on March 31, 2017 in both the US and the UK.
