Toby Keith has decided to put together a Oklahoma Twister Relief concert in aid of those affected by the storms back in May. The concert will feature some big star names and sold in less than an hour. One star performing at the concert is Garth Brooks, who says that he feels honored to be involved.
Talking of his involvement in the concert, Brooks said, "Once we got the news that the tornado had hit Toby’s hometown, Miss Yearwood and I told Toby we were at his service for whatever he chose to do. I am amazed at the human spirit the tornado victims have shown. I am humbled by the giving of the volunteers. It is an honor to get to be a part of this healing process."
Toby Keith also revealed just how close to his heart this concert really is, "I grew up in Moore, I live in Norman and I’ve got lots of family and friends who were directly affected. I know these folks and they’re resilient but we’re going to keep helping them any way we can."
Carrie Underwood, Sammy Hagar, Mel Tillis and John Anderson recently joined the already outstanding list of stars, which includes Toby Keith, Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, Trisha Yearwood and Ronnie Dunn. The Toby Keith Oklahoma Twister Relief concert will take place on Saturday, July 6 at the University of Oklahoma’s Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman.
