Singer Gloria Estefan has been in the music making business for decades now but she is still going strong and making new records. The latest single to get released by Gloria is the track The Day You Say You Love Me, which comes from her new album The Standards, and Gloria has reveled how a late night shower inspired the song.
Estefan explained, "It was 2 o'clock in the morning, and as I stepped into the shower, this whole thing came into my head—I was hanging out of the shower, dripping on a piece of paper writing this down. I had been thinking for weeks in my head about the hook of the song, and then one night it just all poured out."
Gloria also revealed her love of ballads, “Obviously the record company wanted us to keep doing ‘Conga,’ but it was very important to us that Words Get in the Way come out next as a single. I told the record company it may be tougher to brand us by changing, but in the long run, it’s gonna free us. Because this is what I do: I love ballads, I write ballads, I sing them.”
It is not just her music career keeping her busy either, as Gloria Estefan is working on a Broadway production of her life, which she hopes to see get its big released in 2014.
