Well awards season has now well and truly begun and we are now getting a rough idea of what we can expect to happen at the Oscars 2015, following the Golden Globes 2015, which took place at the weekend. As is always the case with any Awards ceremony, we got the usual shocks and surprises, as well as seeing some more obvious choices being made along the way.
Boyhood was the big winner on the night

One of the biggest shocks of the evening, was probably the fact that the Benedict Cumberbatch starring project The Imitation Game actually went home empty-handed, failing to win any of the awards it was up for. Elsewhere though, it was a lot less surprising to see the movie Boyhood managing to pick up three awards, cementing its place as one of the frontrunners for the 2015 Oscars.

Boyhood took home the Best Film Drama Award, beating off the likes of Foxcatcher, The Imitation Game, Selma and The Theory of Everything. Director Richard Linklater took home the Best Director Award, fending off Wes Anderson, for The Grand Budapest Hotel, Ava Duvernay, for Selma, Alejandro González Iñárritu for Birdman, and David Fincher, for Gone Girl. Then actress Patricia Arquette won the Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture Award, beating Jessica Chastain, for A Most Violent Year, Keira Knightley, for The Imitation Game, Emma Stone, for Birdman, and Meryl Streep, for Into the Woods.
