It is that time of year again where the talk turns to awards season and which films and stars are likely to land some nominations for some of the big awards that will be handed out in 2015. One of the biggest awards events of the year would have to be the Golden Globes, which tend to give us a good idea about the likes of the Oscars and the nominations for the Golden Globes 2015 have been announced.

Angelina Jolie directed Unbroken
While there are plenty of nominations that we were expecting to be given, there have also been a few people who have been snubbed by the Golden Globes. A lot of people expected to see Angelina Jolie getting a nod for her movie Unbroken, which she directed, or for her performance in the movie Maleficent but it was not to be. It was also thought that we would see Bradley Cooper getting recognition for American Sniper but both he and director Clint Eastwood were snubbed.
Meanwhile, the movie that has found itself being the biggest hit with the Golden Globes is the Michael Keaton starring movie Birdman, which has been nominated for seven Golden Globes. Meanwhile, the movies Boyhood and The Imitation Game have also hit big, bagging themselves five nominations a piece. Then there are the biopics The Theory of Everything (Stephen Hawking) and Selma (Martin Luther King) which both landed four nominations.

Michael Keaton stars in Birdman
The 72nd Golden Globes will take place on January 11 and will once again be hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, who are hosting the event for the third year running.
