With so many new Star Wars movies being made these days, we are getting many new and exciting characters coming to that universe, some which we already wish we could forget, while there are others who will go on to live ling in the memory. One such new character, who we feel did not get enough screen time in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is that of the villainous Captain Phasma.
Game of Thrones actress Gwendoline Christie gave a very strong performance during her limited screen time and we are hoping that we will get to see more of the character in the upcoming movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Gwendoline has now been talking about some of the characters who inspired her when she was growing up, admitting that she always looked up to Star Wars legend Princess Leia.
Christie told The Hollywood Reporter, "I watched TV and film obsessively from such a young age but [Leia] really stayed with me through my formative years. She doesn't care what people think and isn't prepared to be told what to do ... That was really instrumental to me as someone who didn't feel like I fit in that homogenised view of what a woman is supposed to be and there was inspiration there."
Princess Leia is definitely one of the most legendary Star Wars characters who will be sorely missed from the franchise in the future of the Star Wars universe. We will get to see the character one last time though, in the upcoming new movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which is set to hit the big screen on December 14 in the UK and December 15 in the US.
