It seems like stars are beginning to make a name for themselves and become famous on a global scale at such a young age these days and, while it is nice to see such talented young people in the world, it is not always good for them. Singer Sinead O'Connor has now brought up her concerns about people becoming global superstars at such a young age.
Justin Bieber has been on the scene from a young age
Sinead O'Connor says that young stars get over sexualised from a young age, which is not good for them and is not right. Sinead feels that Justin Bieber has become over sexualised since breaking onto the music scene at such a young age, comparing his situation to that of Britney Spears.
O'Connor explained, "I think that people focus an awful lot on the female aspect to this, but it is also the males. The very young male artists who are practically children or look like children are also being sexualised. Justin Bieber is a great example. When he came along he was only 16 years of age. Obviously he was extraordinarily talented, so I'm not trying to negate that, but he was very much being sold on his sexuality."
Britney Spears came on the scene early
Sinead then went on to compare the Justin Bieber situation to that of Britney Spears when she first came on the scene, "Britney Spears, of course was quite inappropriately young to be sold in that way, dressed up in a school uniform, but I think that really people forget that the guys are going through it as well, and I think that is quite important," O'Connor added.
