British singer and songwriter Jake Bugg has had a bit of a dig at the entourage that goes around with Britney Spears. Jake says that, when he bumped into Britney, she was nice enough to say hello, but the size of her entourage and the fact that they are so controlling is just daft.
Bugg was chatting to the guys over at the Daily Star, when he explained to them, "Britney was nice and said hello to me, but those stars have such a massive number of people it's daft."
He added, "Staff on the show were saying to her entourage, 'I'm just going to stick a bit of tape on this microphone, is that okay?' when I was setting up. I was going, 'Just f**king stick it on there'. They should let people be who they want to be, not turn them into some superstar."
Jake Bugg was nominated for the 2013 Mercury Prize, which took place tonight, and he admitted that he was not too concerned about winning the award. That is quite fortunate, since fellow singer and songwriter James Blake was victorious on the night with his album Overgrown.
