It was way back in 1995 that we saw Val Kilmer taking on the role of the Caped Crusader in the movie Batman Forever, which saw him going head to head with two villains, Tommy Lee Jones as Two Face and Jim Carrey as The Riddler. The Batman franchise took a dark turn with the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy and Jim Carrey has admitted that he would have loved to have been involved in that franchise.

Jim Carrey played The Riddler
Carrey was promoting new movie Dumb and Dumber To, when he told MTV News about his desire to work with Christopher Nolan in the future, "I'd love to work in the new graphic novel versions of the movie. I don't know about reprising the role, I don't know if Chris Nolan would go for that but I'd love to work with him."
He added, "We actually developed a script for a movie about Howard Hughes and he says it's one of the best scripts he's ever written but, at the time Avator was coming out and we decided not to do it. He didn't wanna come out against Martin Scorsese, who is one of his heroes. Maybe some day that will occur as I'd love to work with Chris."

The Batman Forever cast
Fortunately for fans of the Batman franchise, we will not be getting Jim Carrey back as The Riddler in any of the new Batman movies any time soon. As for Jim and Christopher Nolan working together, it would be interesting to see what they could come up with together.
