Fans of music superstar Katy Perry have been waiting for the sexy star to release some new music for quite a while now and they were delighted when it was revealed that she would release the track Rise for the Rio 2016 Olympics. Katy has now opened up about new music and her new album, stating that she decided to share Rise with the world as a way of bridging the gap to her new album.
Perry explained, "I've been taking my time making this record and I just wanted to have a bridge of something whether I was thinking about doing something for a film or something like this and this seemed so obvious and such a perfect fit. It's too soon to define it. I want to let the music define itself when it comes out."
While the new Katy Perry track Rise has been the perfect fit for the Rio Olympics, the music superstar has admitted that her new album was never intended to have that sort of feel to it. However, Katy is delighted that Rise has managed to get across that spirit of the athletes competing at the Olympics.
Perry added, "I would never necessarily go with this type of song as the first single in the middle of summer. It wasn't obvious as something I would go with for the next record, but it seemed to match the spirit of the athletes."
We have to admit that we loved Rise and think it is a fantastic tune, but we cannot wait to hear what the rest of the new Katy Perry album has to offer.
