Leonardo DiCaprio has several times been one of the nominees but not the winner at the Academy Awards but there is a buzz starting to develop in the entertainment industry that if he joins the movie "Joy" and their dream team it might just lead to him winning the award.
The rumours are numerous that the talented actor who has earned critical acclaim for many of his recent projects including his role in the movie "Django Unchained" is in talks to become part of the "Joy Mangano biopic about the real life story of a single mum turned multimillionaire inventor" (Entertainment Wise - November 17).
Academy Award winning actress Jennifer Lawrence has already been cast as the female lead "Joy" and the movie is being directed by David O. Russell who is the director who guided the actress to an Oscar win in 2013 in "Silver Linings Playbook and with whom she earned a nomination for "American Hustle" in 2014.
Reports indicate that Leonardo DiCapro is interested in starring in the movie and the director is working on the script so that it would be more enticing to a star of his Hollywood stature.
It seems as if this is an opportunity that Leonardo DiCaprio cannot afford to pass up or 'screw up'. He would be working with a 'dream team' of filmmakers and actors if he joins David O. Russell who will be behind the camera and is acting opposite Jennifer Lawrence in addition to Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro who the director is pursuing.
Leonardo DiCaprio recently celebrated his 40th birthday with 3 days of partying and if he can put that side of him to the back burner and focus on working with this talented actor it could lead to him finally walking across the stage to receive an Academy Award and when one looks at his talent it is almost a travesty that he has not yet won one.
The opportunity to get to work with a dream team is available and could lead to an Oscar for Leonardo DiCaprio and now the only question is, does he want it bad enough?
