When it comes to the number of different performances of The Joker over the years, many comic book fans would say that Star Wars legend Mark Hamill has actually given the best performance ever, having had plenty of practise and experience over the years. So, when it was announced that Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto was taking on the role in the new DCEU, many fans were excited to see what the great actor could do with the character.
Well, after seeing Suicide Squad a number of times and feeling more and more disappointed with every watch, it seems that the performance from Jared Leto as The Joker has many fans split. Now though, Mark Hamill himself has decided to talk about that performance, although is seems that Mark was keen to neither praise or criticise.
Without actually going into too much detail about what he thought about the performance, Hamill said, "Everyone brings a different spin to the character and you have to look at each script separately. I don’t think there’s a definitive version of the Joker and I don’t think there can be. It’s like Hamlet, really. It’ll be constantly redefined." So basically he does not realy want to say what he thought.
It will certainly be interesting to see what does happen with Jared Leto as The Joker in future DCEU projects, with many people expecting to see him reprising the role in The Batman, or possibly even having a small role in the Justice League movie. We guess we will just have to wait and see what does happen.
