While some movies tend to run very smoothly, getting announced, before a script is written, a cast and crew is brought together, production gets underway and completed, and finally the movie gets released, all in a matter of months, there are other projects that are not so lucky and have a lot of stumbling blocks to overcome on the way to getting made.
One such movie, that has had to deal with crew members coming and going, as well as cast members pulling out, with a number of replacements along the way, is the Natalie Portman film Jane Got a Gun. So, with that in mind, Natalie will surely hope that things come a lot easier on her new movie project Annihilation.
There has been plenty of talk about the movie adaptation of Annihilation, which will be based on the hit novel of the same name, from the author Jeff VanderMeer. The very talented Alex Garland will direct the project and has adapted the screenplay for Annihilation, claiming that he will not stick completely to the source material, with a few surprises for the fans of the book.
It certainly does look like Annihilation could be a very exciting movie indeed. As if having Alex Garland and Natalie Portman on board was not enough, Annihilation will also star Tessa Thompson and Gina Rodriguez, while Jennifer Jason Leigh is also rumoured for a role. Annihilation is expected to begin production in the Spring, with the aim of landing a 2017 release date.
