There was once a time when Hollywood veteran Nicolas Cage was seen as one of the best talents in the business but these days things are a lot different for the actor. Rather than continuing to land those huge Hollywood movie roles, Nicolas has appeared in a string of mediocre movies, to say the least, but there still future projects that could get him back to his best.
Nicolas Cage played the lead role in the two Ghost Rider movies and the actor has now been talking about other comic book movies, suggesting that he would love the opportunity to play a villain on the big screen. While Nicolas suggested that he would be interested in the possibility of playing The Joker in the DCEU, he actually seemed much more excited about playing Doctor Doom in a possible future Fantastic Four movie.
Cage shared, "I always thought I’d make a great Joker. And I always thought that I would’ve been a good villain in one of the Marvel [movies] like Doctor Doom. But, [with] Doctor Doom you have to wear that mask. I thought the story leading up to Doctor Doom could’ve been interesting. At this point if I was to go back into the format it would probably have to be as a villain."
There has been no official word yet of what is actually going to happen with the Fantastic Four franchise but, should we actually get another attempt at bringing the Fantastic Four back to the big screen, we think Nicolas Cage could well give us a great performance as Doctor Doom.
