There was once a time when we really thought that Olivia Wilde was going to go on and become one of the biggest and best acting talents in the business and, while she is a much sought after actress, she has never quite given us that incredible performance that we know she is capable of. With that said though, Olivia has been earning some impressive reviews for her performance in the new movie Meadowland, so maybe her time has finally come.

Olivia Wilde has been acting for many years
It has almost felt like Olivia Wilde has been playing it safe over the years, taking on roles that do not really push the actress, with many of them having the same vibe to them. With Meadowland, we do get that usual upbeat, chirpy Olivia Wilde we have come to love but, once the film takes a darker turn for her character, we begin to see her spiral into a pit of darkness, really showing us her acting range and reminding us why we had such high hopes for her career.
We are sure that plenty of you are already aware of what to expect from Meadowland but, for those of you who are not, the film has been officially described as, "In the hazy aftermath of an unimaginable loss, Sarah and Phil come unhinged, recklessly ignoring the repercussions. Phil starts to lose sight of his morals; Sarah takes off on a potentially disastrous journey, falling deeper into her own fever dream."

Olivia Wilde has impressed with Meadowland
As well as seeing Olivia Wilde putting in an impressive performance in Meadowland, the movie also features a cast including Luke Wilson, Ty Simpkins, Juno Temple, John Leguizamo, Elisabeth Moss, and Giovanni Ribisi. Meadowland has Reed Morano on directing duties, from a script written by Chris Rossi, and the movie featuring at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier in the year, with an official release date still to be confirmed.
