While the hit television series The X Factor has been criticised over the years, for falling to transform the contestants on the show into hugely successful global superstars, there have been a handful of acts that have seen their lives change in a huge way. One of the biggest and most successful acts to come from The X Factor, would have to be the British boyband One Direction, who are arguably the biggest boyband of all time.
Fans were very disappointed to learn that the One Direction boys have decided to take a short hiatus, having a year off to work on their own solo projects, before coming back together 12 months later. However, it has now been claimed that this short break that the band is supposedly taking is actually going to end up being more of a long-term split, with rumours that they might not get back together until 2019.
A supposed source is quoted as saying, “One Direction are not coming together in a year or even two. The fans have hoped that the group would honour their announcement of returning within 12 months. But that is a long way off and the boys are not even on track to mention a comeback.”
The insider then went on to add, "All four are loving their own solo freedom. To make matters worse, Louis and Harry are not even speaking as tensions run high between them. They weren’t talking at the end of the group and things have not eased. It may be a long time before that relationship gets better."
While we cannot wait for the hiatus to be over and for One Direction to come back together, we are eager to see what the boys do decide to do with their time off and what path they choose for their solo career. It will certainly be an interesting few months.
