There seems to have become a popular trend over the course of the past few years, of talking a hugely popular classic movie and changing it up, by bringing a new version to the small screen. We have already seen this done with Grease Live!, as well as The Rocky Horror Picture Show, while the next one to come our way will be the small screen adaptation of the classic 80s movie Dirty Dancing.

While most people will obviously be most interested to know which two stars will be playing the lead roles in the movie, we were actually delighted to learn that the beautiful and talented Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland was appearing in the movie. Sarah will take on the role of Lisa Houseman in the Dirty Dancing TV movie and, as you would expect, the actress is very excited for the release of the project.
It is certainly going to be interesting to see what changes are made for the new TV version, from the original Dirty Dancing movie, and everybody is obviously excited about seeing that iconic Dirty Dancing lift. With that said, being huge fans of Sarah Hyland, we are just hoping that she gets more screen time than her character did in the original film.

While Sarah Hyland is taking on the role of Lisa Houseman in the Dirty Dancing TV movie, we will see Abigail Breslin taking on the role of Baby Houseman, the role made famous by Jennifer Grey, while Colt Prattes is playing the role of Johnny Castle, which was made famous by the late great Patrick Swayze. The Dirty Dancing TV movie is going to air on ABC in 2017 but an official release date is yet to be determined.
