Modern Family star Sofia Vergara has been working very hard in the acting industry for many years now, proving that if you want something bad enough, you believe in yourself, and you are willing to work hard enough, then you really can achieve your dreams. However, it seems that there are still some people who feel the need to try to put down the stunning star and criticise for things that really are uncalled for.
One of the biggest criticisms that has been aimed at Sofia Vergara has actually come from the Latino community, with many feeling that the actress should be ashamed of herself for playing a typical stereotype in Modern Family. However, Sofia has now hit back at the critics, insisting that she is happy to play such a stereotype, as it is exactly the way the women in her life have acted.
Vergara explained, "What's wrong with being a stereotype? Gloria's character is inspired by my mom and my aunt. They are both Latin women who grew up in Colombia, like me. They love colour, prints and shoes. It upsets me when Latinos complain about Gloria. I am grateful for the opportunity because the gringos have let me in with this strong accent I have. Eight years ago nobody had an accent like this on television."
As far as her personal life is concerned, Sofia Vergara currently seems very happy with her new husband Joe Manganiello, with the actress admitting that she probably got married too young the first time around. We are glad to see that things are working out for the actress.
