There was a lot of talk about the relationship between Hollywood superstar Tom Hiddleston and music star Taylor Swift when the couple were dating, with many people talking about that "I love Taylor" tank top that Tom once wore. Now, the actor has opened up about his relationship with Taylor, claiming that the tank top was simply worn as a joke at the time, but went on to become a symbol of their romance.
Hiddleston told America's GQ, "The truth is it was the Fourth of July and a public holiday and we were playing a game and I slipped and hurt my back. And I wanted to protect the graze from the sun and said, 'Does anyone have a T-shirt?' And one of her friends said, 'I've got this.' And we all laughed about it. It was a joke. It was a joke. Among friends. The tank top became an emblem of this thing."
While things clearly did not work out between the two superstars, it does not mean that things ended badly and Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift appear to still be on good terms with one another. Tom insists that their relationship was completely real and was full of lovely words for his ex-girlfriend.
Hiddleston added, "Taylor is an amazing woman. She’s generous and kind and lovely, and we had the best time. Of course it was real."
It is nice to see that two global superstars can end a romantic relationship without having to talk trash about one another.
