British racing driver Lewis Hamilton has been dominating Formula One this season but, while people love to talk about those who are winning, there has also been an interesting development at the back of the field. The once dominant McLaren team is now fighting it out at the back of the grid, despite the fact that they have two former world champions on board, in Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso.
Jenson Button is a former world champion

When Jenson Button signed his new contract with McLaren last season, he only signed a one year extension, with the team having the option to keep him on for another year. It is now at that point of the season, where teams begin to get their driver line-ups for next season in order, which has led to many people to ask what the future holds for Jenson Button in the sport and whether we will see him beyond this season.

Well, McLaren have insisted that it is highly likely that they will keep Jenson Button on for at least one more season, while the driver himself has admitted that he only wants to race for the struggling team. Jenson says that he cannot imagine himself driving for anyone else and that he will decide to walk away from the sport, should McLaren decide not to keep him on for another season.

Former F1 driver Mark Webber has recently stated that he would love to see Jenson Button racing in a different series, while there has also been talk of the British ace doing some television work. Hopefully McLaren see sense and do keep Jenson on for another year, as he will truly be a great loss to the sport.
