When it was announced that Sony were going to make a Venom movie, comic book movie fans around the world were curious to know what they meant for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, since Venom is a character from the Spider-Man world, and Spider-Man has now become an important character in the MCU, with Tom Holland already appearing as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man in two Marvel movies.
Some comic book movie fans have suggested that we could see Tom Holland making a cameo appearance as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man in the Venom movie, while others have suggested that we will get a different Spider-Man appearing in the film, with many claiming that it could be a good way to finally give us a Miles Morales Spider-Man on the big screen.
Meanwhile, British actor Tom Hardy is playing the role of Eddie Brock aka Venom in the new Sony movie, which has led to some people suggesting that we could actually see Tom Hardy as Venom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future. Tom would definitely be a huge addition to the MCU and it would be great to see Venom turning up in the untitled Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel in 2019.
For now though, it will surely all be down to how Venom performs for Sony on the big screen, not only at the box office but also with the fans and the critics. If Venom is a hit then Sony may try to build their own movie universe around the character, rather than handing him over to Marvel. However, if the movie fails to hit the right note with the fans then we are sure Marvel would know just what to do with the character.
