There has been a lot of talk about the Wonder Woman movie, ever since Warner Bros. and DC announced that the character was being given her own solo movie. With Gal Gadot confirmed as the actress to play Wonder Woman, it was not long before it was announced that Michelle MacLaren had joined the project to direct the film.
However, it now looks like Warner Bros. and DC are looking for a new Wonder Woman director, as it has been revealed that Michelle MacLaren has decided to exit the project. It has been confirmed that there were a few creative differences between Michelle and the production company, with both thinking it best if they part ways now and make way for a new director.
Warner Bros. have issued an official statement about the exit, which read, "Given creative differences, Warner Bros and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together." However Warner Bros. decided not to share what said creative differences were, although they were clearly unresolvable.
The search is now on for a new director to helm the Wonder Woman movie and we are sure that there will be no shortage of people interested in taking on the project. With the Wonder Woman movie set to hit the big screen on June 23, 2017, it was expected that the movie would go into production later in the year, so a new director will be needed very soon indeed.
