The original novel, 'Gone Girl' by Gillian Flynn, has become an international bestseller and is mostly praised for its twists and turns. The film will definitely be incredibly dark, but if anyone can do it right, it would be David Fincher. The official synopsis of the film is, "A woman mysteriously disappears on the day of her wedding anniversary."
Majority of the suspicion after the disappearance falls on the husband, who would be played by Ben Affleck is talks work out. The book is actually told through differing points of view, but since we don't know anything about the movie, we can't say for sure what structure Fincher plans on using.
