British actor Robert Pattinson has become one of the biggest and best actors in the business, thanks in part to his role as Edward Cullen in the hit Twilight movie franchise, but it seems that things were not exactly as smooth as they might have looked. Robert has now been talking about his early days on the Twilight movies, revealing that he actually came quite close to being fired from the role, due to his lack of smiling.

Pattinson was a guest on Sirius Radio, when he told show host Howard Stern, "If you're going into a relationship with someone, the way to make it really intense is if you can barely talk to each other, you can barely touch each other, it's incredibly serious all the time. That's what teenage relationships are."
He added, "But everyone kind of wanted it to be, like, 'No, they should just be, like, happy and having fun. That's what people want.' I thought I was pretty safe. They [his agents] flew up and were like, 'You have to do the opposite of what you're doing now or you're going to get fired today.' I was probably going a little too miserable, so there was some kind of compromise made."

If Robert Pattinson had have been fired from the Twilight films, it would have been interesting to see where his career would have gone from there, and it also would have been interesting to see which actor they would have brought in to replace him. Fortunately though, it all worked out for the best in the end.
