Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds has now made his directorial debut with the movie Lost River and, while he has been getting some negative comments, the actor is still proud of his film. While talking about his directing talents though, Ryan admitted that he could never actually star in one of his own films, as directing a movie is work enough.

Ryan Gosling with Eva Mendes
Gosling was chatting to Metro, when he told them, "There's guys out there directing themselves and making it look easy - but it's not. I don't know how they're doing it, because directing is not easy. For me, it was just enough to try and direct the film. It just wasn't an option to be in ['Lost River']."
While Ryan Gosling does not think that he would ever be able to star in any of the movies he will direct in the future, he has spoken about the people who does want to direct in his films. Ryan says that it is important to direct people that you trust and care about, as it makes the whole process much easier and much more fun.

Gosling added, "You want to direct people that you care about, because you love them and you want them to be great and you want to show what you think is great about them." It is no surprise that his girlfriend Eva Mendes stars in his directorial debut Lost River then.
As well as starring Eva Mendes, the rest of the Lost River cast includes such names as Christina Hendricks, Iain De Caestecker, Saoirse Ronan, Matt Smith, and Ben Mendelsohn. As well as directing Lost River, Ryan Gosling also wrote the screenplay for the movie, which is out now in both the US and the UK.
