There have been many video games adapted for the big screen over the years and there are plenty more coming in the years to come. While we are getting a lot of new video game to movie projects coming our way, there are also some reboots heading to the big screen, including the upcoming movie Hitman: Agent 47, which opens later in the year.

Hitman: Agent 47 opens this year
It was back in 2007 that we got the first Hitman movie, which starred Timothy Olyphant in the lead role and, while the movie managed to gross almost $100m worldwide, from a budget of just $24m, the movie was slated by fans and critics alike. Plans for a sequel soon fell apart and switched to a reboot, with Rupert Friend taking on the lead role and Zachary Quinto also joining the cast.
Hitman: Agent 47 focuses on an assassin who was engineered to become the perfect killing machine. His new target is a mega-corporation, which has planned to discover the secrets of the past of Agent 47, in a bid to create a super army of their own, with powers even better than his. Agent 47 teams up with a young woman who might have the secret to defeating the mega-corporation, while also facing some revelations about his past and where he comes from.

The new trailer has been released
As well as starring Rupert Friend and Zachary Quinto, the Hitman: Agent 47 cast also includes such names as Ciarán Hinds, Thomas Kretschmann, and Hannah Ware, plus many more. Hitman: Agent 47 has been directed by Aleksander Bach, with the movie set to hit the big screen on August 28 in the UK and August 29 in the US.
